The Emerald Ball Dancesport Championships started in the 1960’s with owners Ken and Sheila Sloan. It is one of the longest ongoing ballroom dancesport competitions in the United States. In 1989, Wayne and Donna Eng purchased it partnering with Terry Leone. In 1994, after Leone passed away, the Engs became the sole owners of the Emerald Ball. The Emerald Ball Championships continues to be one of three largest ballroom competitions in the United States.
The United States National Professional American style rhythm champions for 2014 were Emmanuel Pierre Antoine and Liana Churilova. The American style rhythm dance genres are: cha cha, rumba, bolero, East Coast swing and mambo.

Ballroom dancesport includes two styles: International and American style ballroom. There are also two divisions in each style as follows: International Latin & Standard (Ballroom) and American rhythm and smooth. The Pro rhythm competing dancers were Ilya & Mandy Lelednitsky, Peter & Alexandra Perzhu, Nazar Norov & Irina Kudryahova, Emmanuel Pierre Antoine & Liana Churilova, Ronald & Katie Guillen, Mikhail Vlasov & Vanda Polakova, Vard Margaryan & Sofya Fil.
The United States National Professional American Style Smooth Champions are Peter Perzhu and Alexandra Perzhu.
Professional Smooth Final @ Emerald Ball 2014
The American style smooth dances are: waltz, tango, foxtrot and Viennese waltz. The competing professional American style smooth dancers were Kris Suakjian & Briana Haft, Peter & Alexandra Perzhu, Mikhail & Galina Zharinov, Nick Cheremukhin & Viktorija, Travis & Jaimee Tuft, Mazen Hamza & Izabella.
The United States International style Professional Ballroom (Standard) Champions 2014 are Victor Fung and Anastasia Muravyeva.

The ballroom dance genres are: waltz, tango, foxtrot, Viennese waltz and quickstep. The competing International Professional Ballroom Standard dancers were Victor Fung & Anastasia Muravyeva, Aretem Plakhotnyi & Inna Berlizyeva, Egor Abashkin & Katia Kanevskaya, Igor Colac & Roxane Milotti, Denis Kutepor & Lesya Sinitsa, Gianni Caliandro & Arianna Esposito, Nazar Baith & Mariko Cantley.
The United States International style Professional Latin champions 2014 are Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko.
Professional International Latin Final@Emerald Ball Championships 2014
The Latin dance genres are: cha cha, samba, rumba, paso doble and jive. The competitors in Professional International style Latin dancers were Roman Kutskyy and Anna Kovalova, Ivan Mulyavka & Loreta Kriksciukaityte, Andrey Trasov & Julia Kuznetsova, Nikolay Voronovich & Maria Nikolishina, Vitalii Proskurin & Evgenia Shatilova, Evgeniy Likhachev & Maria Levina.
Emerald Ball Championships
In 2013, the Emerald Ball became the largest pro/am competition in the world with 15,000 entries from all over the world. In 2015, the Emerald Ball will be held at the LAX Hilton, April 28th through May 3rd, 2015.
Wayne and Donna Eng have also owned and operated a successful dance studio for 15 years and sponsor an annual Dance Camp Las Vegas, this year June 14th -19th, 2015.
In 2001, the Eng’s created the Dance Vision International Association (DVIDA), which is recognized by the National Dance Council of America, as well as, the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. Their products include dance syllabus manuals, DVD’s and other tools used by dancers across the globe.
