The World Latin Dance Cup, produced by Albert Torres, is an annual Latin dance competition. Meanwhile, the 8th Annual, World Latin Dance Cup  is coming December 11th through December 16th, 2017 at the Wyndham Hotel, Orlando, Florida.  In addition, Albert Torres produces the Vegas Salsa Fest in Las Vegas May 4th through May 7th. Also, Torres produces the LA Salsa Fest in Los Angeles from May 24th through May 28th.

Also, the 7th annual World Latin Dance Cup was held at the Deauville Beach Resort in Miami, Florida. Accordingly, Karen Forcano and Ricardo Vega received the highest score at this competition. Hence, here is a video clip of their couples pro salsa cabaret performance.

Generally, the focus of the competition is on the Latin dances including the salsa, bachata, kizomba and tango. In addition, the WLDC offers over 50 divisions of dancing including juniors, teams, couples and solos plus amateurs and professionals. Additionally, there are many opportunities to learn more about the Latin dance styles in the workshops by the professionals.  Finally, the WLDC features the best Latin deejays and music plus night concerts and dancing.

Club Latin dancing has continued in popularity since salsa evolved from mambo and cha cha in the 1980’s. Additionally, the bachata has skyrocketed in popularity in the last decade. Furthermore, Latin dance competitions have featured other dance styles in recent years. For instance, the African dance, kizomba and the Argentinian tango have been included in recent years.

  • Teams: Pro Bachata teams, Bachata Cabaret Teams, Casino Rueda Pro, Salsa Cabaret Team Pro, Salsa Men’s Team, Salsa Pro Team, Tango Pro Team.
  • Couples pro includes including bachata, salsa, cha cha, salsa on 2 and tango
  • Amateur divisions including bachata, salsa, cha cha, salsa on 2 and tango.
  • Solo divisions: samba soloist lady pro, salsa soloist lady pro, salsa soloist lady over 50 pro, salsa soloist man pro, salsa soloist man over 50 pro.
  • Pro-Am Divisions: Bachata Lady Lead, Bachata Man Lead, Cha cha Man Lead, Salsa on 1 Man, Salsa on 1 Lady, Salsa on 2 man & lady combined age over 75 divisions and tango divisions.
